Cast HP Bullets

Is there a supplier of cast HP bullets like were used in 38 spcl? I would like to try to find something for 38 special and 45 ACP.

The only one I know of offhand is the Rimrock soft lead gas check .38 HP.

Speer and maybe Hornady have swaged lead hollowpoints.

I do not know of a lead hollowpoint .45.

I believe there is a company call zero cast bullets that makes hp style bullets. You could always use 148 wad cutters with a hollow base and load them upside down. Not saying that is a safe thing to do but i do it for my carry gun and they are devastating upon impact and they are very soft about a bhn of 9 or maybe 10 but they are made just for that use on my end. I don't condone if you copy what i do and things go wrong just to c.m.a.

Matt has cast HPs in 38, 45, 44, etc. Check him out. Very good quality bullets. I cant help but want to try and load his 125gr Spire point 38 bullet.

edit: sorry, he doesnt have 38s listed anymore. I use Hornady 158gr LSWC-HPs for that. I think I got like 300 of them for 30 bucks or so from grafs last time I ordered them.

Make your own, like these I made;

Those are 44 mag 310 grainers.

Those are .45 200 grain RNFPHP.

That's the mold, made by MP molds in Slovenia by Miha Prevec. It's a cramer type mold that allows the HP pins to stay with the mold. Keeps them hotter to make nice filled-out HP boolits. The pins can be turned around to make a solid.

It's a group buy from http://www.castboolits.gunloads.com/ The wait is around a year, but he makes some extras which he will sell to the public. Cost is $150.00.

No 38 hp's----------YET. waiting on a mold that is a copy of the classic 358156 in HP configuration,(158 grain as a solid, should cast at 145 grains as a HP).

All right I did see you want to buy ready made bullets. I just had to show you could make your own, and how mine turned out. And yes they actually expand well and are very accurate.

Do you really want cast bullets, or just lead hollowpoints? Midsouth sells Magnus Bullets, and they have some nice swaged HP's. I've got a big box of their .38's (the stock number is 505 or 515, I don't remember which)
