Saw a used Mossberg 500, thinking about picking it up

It's an 8-shot version, same model I used to use on a job I used to have. I like it, been thinking about a Mossberg shotgun for home defense. It's $299 at a local store. MSRP now is somewhere around $475. Think I should go for it?

I already have a couple (3) good pistols and an AR that can serve for home defense. Don't actually need a shotgun, but am considering it, and the price seems decent

$299.00 is the cheapest I found on Gunbroker, but there were a lot of them in the $300.00s. Don't go by MSRP.
