1) I would start with about 4.5 grains of Bullseye. Max is about 4.9

2) Yes, that ought to work. But the thing to be careful about with 9mm is the bullet seating depth, which is influenced by the bullet length and the overall length. That's why you don't start right at the max loads -- to account for variations in lots of powders, bullet lengths, primers, extra-tight gun chambers, etc.

Starting grains is 3.9 with Bullseye, 4.5 is max. Sounds like 4.9 would be in +P territory.

well..tried a couple of rounds with the blue dot, started with the lowest load of 6.3g with an over all lenght of 1.075... went out back and let it fly.
felt real good.. put both holes within 4'' of each other at about 30 yards.
my only question at this point is... looking at the fill of the case it seems to fill it up pretty good, and at 1.075 it doesn't look to have much room left if I would choose to load any hotter (max is 7.1+)
is the OAL something I can play with ..within reason ? like say 1.085 as long as the gun feeds well ...or even 1.090.
thanks Matt.

With Blue Dot, the max load is listed as 7.9 grains at 1.120" OAL. The idea is to load 10 at the starting load of 6.1gr and work up in 0.3 grain increments.

Alliant's latest data also list max for Bullseye at 4.4gr at 1.120" OAL.

I load 9mm and .40 S&W with Longshot and am getting excellent accuracy and velocity. Load density is real good, little space leaft in the case. On Hogdon's load data site it is about the best of the 3 powder manufacture's listed if your wanting a good dense load, with high velocity. Not a real economical choice, but deffinitely worth it to me.

4.9 was Alliant's published data a couple of years ago when they had a PDF load book.
