33LB lead ingot in FL
I have a 33 lb ingot(approximately 12" round x 1 1/2" deep) I smelted from lead I was saving for when I could afford to purchase reloading and casting equipment. I am no longer in the casting market for the time being, so I am looking to sell this lead. $30. I am located in Jax, FL.

What's it smelted from? Wheel weights? Linotype? Do you know what size flat rate usps box it would fit in?

It would make for an ultra cool target. I did that once.

Hey Aaronsc
The cost of shipping lead is always going to be a big problem with trying to sell lead. Find yourself some nice, well made commercially cast bullets, and the cost of shipping drives the price up so high it sort of puts a damper on things. Then when you try to sell the same weight of just plain lead that has not been cast into bullets, and you now have compounded the problem. Your shipping cost is just as high, and you are not getting anything but plain old lead. Shipping lead is just not a great enterprise. If you can find someone locally to purchase your lead, that is a different story. Try advertising it on Craigslist. You might find someone locally and avoid the dreadful shipping costs. Best wishes, Dave Wile |

Yeah I figured shipping would be outrageous. I was hoping maybe someone who lived in North FL might see this and be interested. The craigslist idea is a good one, and I've already put it on the Florida gun trader website.
The target idea sounds fun too. I may just try it. Thanks all. Aaron |

If it is under 40 lbs., and will fit in a flat rate box then shipping would be under 15 dollars. I think it was around 12 last time I mailed a flat rate box last year.

Lead Ingot
Aaron and I have done business with three lead ingots to date and I've been totally satisfied with the transactions. Deal with confidence because Aaron is a fine guy to do business with! Two thumbs up!
