Shrapnel Found in Brass
I often use a tarp to catch my spent brass. The last time I was shooting, I found small pieces of bullet shrapnel amoung my spent brass. Does anyone know what might be causing this. I was shooting a Smith and Wesson MP Pro 9mm.

When seating a bullet,if the case is sharp and/or the bullet not straight it may shave some copper off the bullet. It tends to stay pinched with the bullet until shot. I had a certain caliber with bullets that didn't have much of a radious on the base and they were always trying to shave the copper.Even had the next round get slightly jammed when the half moon shaped chunk of copper got wedged between the chamber and case. I had to put a larger bell and chamfer when loading those bullets.
