Russian Tula arsenal SKS.
It's nearly perfect except for a small repair on the stock. Shoots great for what it is. |

my first
When my grandpa came home from WWII he still had his sidearm.
For reasons lost to history he traded that old 1911 for a Stevens Model 87A semi-auto 22 rifle. He gave it to my father when he was about 15. My father held onto it until he died and it came into my possession when I was 28 but I've been shooting it regularly since I was about 12. I liked it so much I aquired another one and I'd buy one more because I have 3 kids and I'd like to give each one a rifle just like grandpas when I pass away. The first semiautomatic rifle I purchased myself was a russian SKS, followed by a HiPoint 45 carbine followed by a chinese SKS and soon ill buy a PTR91 for myself. |

A 740 woodsmaster in 30-06. I sold it during a bad time in my life which I regret now. Not because it was a great or even a decent rifle but because my father gave it to me.

Mines a SAR2, Romanian AK74 clone. The mag wobbles a bunch, I'm pretty sure the gas block is canted (that or my eyes ) and its been through a house fire and had to be refinished. But she never jams and shoots surprisingly good for an AK, I can consistently hit a dip can snap shooting with it at 25yds.

Marlin Model 60 .22 LR.
Why? Because it was free, from my dad.

Regrettably, the imitaion M-1 Carbine by Auto Ordnance. Treated gently, never dropped etc, but after approx. 200 rds., the bolt felt a bit stiff and trying to loosen it, it was suddenly jammed rock solid.
Being brand-new (in October '07), it received a free factory repair, but I was so turned off that this had happened to a new gun, I sold it at a serious loss. That was my very First gun purchase, and age 52. The second semi-auto was a '90 vintage Mini 14. That well-used Mini was more reliable than my Yugo Mauser and six Enfield bolt-action guns. Only sold the Mini because of lousy factory sights, and having discovered Enfield "Jungle Carbines". |

Ruger Mini-14 in 1981. Still have it but don't shoot it much. Not satisfied with the accuracy any longer.

Remington 22 rifle and wished I had it back. Probably the fastest cycling semi auto action I've ever shot. Smooth!

The first semi-auto rifle that I purchased was a Daewoo K1A1.
It was affordable, reliable and unlike most anything else available at the time. I sold it in a moment of weakness and I'm still looking for a suitable replacement.

I see them on GB, but they want too much for them.
I guess that's why I keep seeing the same ones up for sale month after month.
