powerbelts and pyrodex

I have a Thompson 54Cal. Scout 24" barrel. I picked up some 54Cal. Powerbelt Aerotips 295Gr. I have Pyrodex 54Cal. pellets 60Gr. I havent been able to find much on suggested loads or Shooting distances. I was thinking 120Gr. 2 pellets.
I was told that 120grs of pyrodex ffg and a 295gr bullet I should be around 1200fps and 850-900ft-lbs of energy at 100yds. Any suggestions?

I get a mv of 1650 with 100gr eq. 777 and a Lee 250 gr REAL in .50 caliber, this is very close to factory .45-70 , 405 at 1320fps in energy, you really should find someone with a chronograph or buy one for your self, MidwayUSA has a special this month for $90.
Go shootem,
Don
