Can you identify this Made In Spain Shotgun?
It has the following markings and appears to be a 16 ga in good condition.
"ECHHSH" HCHAVH. ARI MENDI Y CIA.S.A./Eibar Made In Spain NIIRU Ser # 329XX then in an oval circle there appears 16/70 near both serial number locations. Can anyone help out here? some of the "I"s may be "1"s instead? My brother read the numbers/letters to me over the phone. Thanks for any help!

Thanks for that much. I was thinking 16 ga. and made in 1970..lol.
Very well could be that the letters/numbers are incorrect. My brother said he had difficulty and sounded as if he were guessing at some. Hope someone might recognize in spite of mistake(s).

Since it's in parentheses I wonder if "ECHHSH" is actually "ENGLISH"

The second one sounds like it could be it.
But my brother definitely said quotation marks" ". But he also said that some of the "H"s looked more like a symbol of a backward "4", the way you would write a 4, than an "H". He was second guessing himself as he was using a magnifying glass and up against worn and older letter/numbers. I did find the name "Eibar" in a search. Supposedly a region in Spain where shotguns were made. Thnx guys!

If you click on the link in my last post, you can see the shotgun my brother has. Except the one he has is case hardened finish on the recevier instead of nickel. He's a happy camper since he only paid $100 for his and it is in excellent condition.
Thanks again. Merry Christmas!
