Nosler BT or hornady Amax?

hey guys.

i am about to buy bullets to start loading for my new rifle, a Rem. 700 in .308.
i am going to buy a box of 168gr. Barnes TSX for sure, just to play with, but i also want to buy 100 or so to load and have for hunting and shooting.

i have narrowed it down to either the Hornady Amax or Nosler BT.

anybody have any experience with either of these?

if you have used both, which did you prefer? all other factors being equal, of course

Shot some A-Max this summer at Camp Perry. Up through last year the issue ammo for the 30-06 rifles was the Greek HXP surplus. This year they switched to new ammo. Hornandy A-Max that pretty well duplicates the M2 ball ballistics.

I thought, and the general consensus I heard from the shooters was that the ammo was a significant improvement. Scores seemed to bear that out.

Good choice on the Barnes

I used the Barnes Tipped TSX in my 308, 300 WSM and my 270 last year for deer hunting in Michigan. Excellent results and highly recommend them.

The AMax is a "Match" bullet and match bullets are not designed for Hunting. That said, there are those that use match bullets for hunting, but not me. I use match bullets for targets and hunting bullets for hunting.
