I got 50 .45 acp reloads, Sure Fire, they said.
$19. At A Place to Shoot in Saugus. 3 jams, but no big deal. Just reload and shoot. I had brought with me 70 American Eagle, and at the price I thought I could just shoot another 50. I had paid for 500 on the American Eagle, last year, $164.95. The range had 500 of the reloads, $170. dc |

I was trying to sell my 7 box's of Wolf .223s at Walmart. I couldn't beleave nobody bit on the for only $30. FYI, I don't own a .223 I bought the ammo from somebody for $20. $30 is more than a far price.
I also tried to unload a box 550 Rem's 22lr, nobody was disperate to give me $40. It might have something to do with telling them 2-3% had misfires. It's funny before all this Connecticut thing happened I would have taken a loss on them, to heck with it. Somebody will buy them. I should sell my over stock of my 9mm WWB too, but I'm keeping them. |

Yesterday I got up early and went hunting for some ammo. Bass pro shops was stocked with 40,45, and 380 along with shotgun and hunting calibers(not 223) I bought some 40 then went to academy sports and all I found the interest me was a box of 500s&w for $56. No 22lr anywhere.

Two 100 round boxes of CCI Mini Mags for $8.00 each. There was a two box limit and it was a buck more than usual, but what the heck.

WalMart has dried up here again. Even the .22 short is gone. Another gun show this weekend so I am sure the ammo that had been here will be seen at the show.
A couple boxes of .380 Federal 95 grain FMJ looked lonely so I gave them a home. |

Just got back from Dick's. 9mm WWB $15.99; 9mm UMC 19.99; 45 Blazer 21.99. 3 box limit. They didn't seem to out of much but there wasn't much of a variety either. It was hard to see behind the cabinet doors. My LGS has some cheaper 9mm Bull $10.99. I'm gonna try a box & see if it works in some of my guns.

Walmart in Morgantown, PA had some 9mm (50 count only), so I bought 3 boxes, as is their current limit. It won't be until spring that I have everything I need to reload, so I need to buy it when I can. All 150 rounds will be gone by tomorrow morning at 10:30 after some IDPA classification practice.

They finally ran out of CB shorts & .22 shot shells at the local meijers. I know they had a shipment in from the last week as the number of .17 HMR doubled. walked away with a box of #6 Remington bird shot for some patterning tests.

Dunham's 7 boxes of PMC bronze 9mm 124gr FMJ $13.99 and 1 spam can of 7.62x54r(used 10% off coupon)$108. I felt like I hit the lottery with the 9mm. Current tally 1500 rds .40S&W, 1100 rds .22lr, 2 spam cans(880 rds) of 7.62x54r and 350 rds 9mm. Have to really keep looking for the 9mm stuff since I just bought the wife a Shield 9mm for Valentines day and it's going to disappear faster than usual from our supplies.

Went to my local Wal Mart to get some cat food, thought I would check out the near empty ammo case. To my surprise, they had 6 boxes of Winchester 5.56, 55 grain FMJ. bought 3 (all I cold buy) for $12.00 per box. I drove home, ( about 3 miles) got my wife, went back, and the other 3 were gone. You have to be QUICK!!

Ammo shortage is . . . REAL?
Shooter:
I was skeptical about all the ammo shortage posts. Thought it was a localized phenomena. Stop by Dunhams today to see. The has some ammo but nothing near what they normally have. Guy behind the counter said they got a shipment in yesterday, and before that he only had two boxes of center fire on the shelves and some shotgun ammo. Plus which, they used to have a dozen or so AR and AKs in the cabinet. None there now. Live well, be safe. Prof Young Last edited by Prof Young; February 8, 2013 at 09:13 PM. Reason: typos |

My local Academy...went from having a shortage of 9mm/223 and now the shelves are about 80% full of shotgun shells. Then 22LR/40/45/308 got wiped out. I think this ammo shortage locally anyways is now getting into all common calibers such as 38/357.

I picked up 1000 rds of Federal .40s&w for range ammo online. I was shocked to actually find some in stock. Most of my lgs either have a limit on ammo or the ammo you buy there can only be used at their range.
