Is this a good newbie AR-15 build/package

For a while now I've been asking about guns and what to buy etc. Since I don't have all the money yet, I figured I might as well just wait longer and save more. But here is build/begginer package I put together. To any experienced AR-15 owners/builders, is this a good one?

(Del-ton m4 complete build kit $480
NcStar carry handle $30
M16 Rifle cleaning kit $20
Rem oil $4) $572 w/shipping

Ati omni hybrid stripped receiver $42 + FFL fee $25

Ammo (600 federal brand rounds) $270 w/shipping

Total $909

Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks!

Polymer lower receivers just don't have the reputation for durability yet that I demand in a firearm. Stick with a forged lower. Palmetto State Armory has forged lowers on sale every day of the week for $49.99, and they complete classic lower kits are on sale almost every day for $149.99. They're currently having a sale w/free shipping on all their complete uppers. Stay away from their PTAC brand, it's rumored to be an all-sorts of other vendors factory rejects.

Complete upper w/BCG+CH $349

Complete lower: $149

You'll need a rear sight... Magpul MBUS is the universal standard, or Palmetto State sells a decent set of aluminum ones. If you're set on a carry-handle, they have one of those too.

Grab a cleaning kit from your local gun-store and try to buy your ammo there unless they're still charging ridiculous prices. Now that the absurd ammo rush is over for centerfire ammo, most LGS's have their prices back inline with what's available online.

If you're going to build it yourself though, you'll need an armorers wrench and a vice block.

Nothing wrong with your ammo choice or the price.

Don't forget magazines... I see lot of places selling non-window PMAGs and C-Products mags for $9 each. If you go with steel/aluminum, make sure they have anti-tilt followers. You can find old beat-to-death tilt-follower mags at gunshows for like $5 (they all need a rebuild) but don't do it. 5 mags is a good round number for getting started.

Looks ok. I would stay away from the poly lower, especially since stripped aluminum ones can be had for pretty much the exact same price(check out PSA).

PSA is your friend !!!!

Save the money so you will be ready to buy when the PSA deal you want is in stock . There turn over rate is huge . Be patient and wait for what you want . The most you will wait is 2 weeks after you have the money and you will get a great rifle at a good price !!!

I just did this PSA , Spikes build

16" Barrel length
416 Stainless steel barrel
223 Wylde Chamber
1 in 8" twist rate
Lead-lapped bore
M4 Feed ramps
MI SS12G2 free-float Rail
A2 Flash Hider
Forged upper receiver
T-Marks
M16 Bolt Carrier
HPT/MPI Carpenter 158 Bolt

On a Spikes MOE lower . Total cost for the rifle is $770 delivered . I've looked around and can't find anything with those specs for less then 1k

Here you go , complete AR for under $650 including the transfer fee , delivered

When shopping at PSA for your upper . Make sure it comes with the BCG ( bolt carrier group ) most of them do not now . It's not a big deal you can order it separate. The one I linked does come with .

There P-TAC line is ok but I'd stick with the PSA line and parts .

IMO Rem oil is garbage , it's thin and dries out fast . Break free CLP , Slip 2000 are my go to AR lube

The PSA premium line is a good deal... Wait for a sale and you will make out well.

I agree about remoil though... Not good for an AR. My go to CLP is Slip2000.

PSA is great and you should be able to get everything on one order. The Del Ton upper is really quality stuff also and if you order from Del Ton you can select options like 1x7 , chrome lined, rails etc. A little more expensive than PSA but quicker shipping. I have 10 PSA builds and two Del Tons built my way with mid length gas (important to me) and 1x7 twist.
