I'm a lefty...where are the holsters?

I'm sure I'm not the only lefty who has issues finding holsters. I want an IWB for my LCR as well as a paddle holster. The Fobus looks okay for the paddle style and is in my price range, but I dont want to get it unless its reversible. I have been happy with pocket carry, but I want to explore other options. Anyone with experience or affordable suggestions? I do not have the funds for custom leather.

Gotcha.. I'm a lefty as well and got so tired of the issues with holsters, mag releases and such, I retrained and now carry, draw and shoot right handed.
It took some adjusting and I am left eye dominant but it's made my life in the gun world much easier.

I would call your situation a quadruple negative. Left handed, revolver, brand, and molded holster are negatives in the marketplace. Left handed is probably less than 10%, revolvers are close to the same percentage of the handgun market, Ruger, while being a well respected brand, doesn’t fall within the top five brands in terms of popularity. A molded holster, specific to the revolver, which is reversible is probably non-existent.

I believe vendors have experimented with the idea of specializing to a limited market but it just doesn’t fly.

The molded holsters that sell at the various gun shows that I’ve seen/heard are in the following order. Most popular first.

Springfield XD series
Glock
Beretta
1911
S&W

Ruger, FN, HK and Walther combined probably doesn’t equal the Springfield.

Holsters for the S&W J frame are available but for other brands and models of revolver most likely less so.

Try Wild Bill's Concealment. He's out of Garner, NC and is primarily a web-based operation now.

Yes, it is a custom leather shop, but his prices are a fraction of what you'll see at Mitch Rosen or the other high end leather crafters, I've used a couple of his holsters and they're actually pretty good.

I understand that he's changed his business model in the last couple years but I'm not sure exactly in what direction.

I look at Don Hume first.

Elpaso Saddlery and Simply Rugged are good options.

What's funny is, going to my LGS, it seems like the only things of the shelf are left handed holsters.

They make several types of holsters, for whatever handedness you are and whatever gun you have. I use their IWB holster (Black Mamba), and it's my favorite holster of all time. They don't have any paddle style holsters available, but you won't be disappointed with their IWB holster.

As a lefty too, I'm acustomed to special orders or custom made. Like others have stated most cases custom holsters are only few more $$ than standard offerings. The only thing you just have to wait longer.

I'm a lefty, and have never had any issues finding holsters, but I haven't tried to holster any guns that haven't been on the market for decades.
You might try looking for a small, local holster-maker. When Blade-Tech was more local, I was aware of people going down there on their lunch hour to drop off their gun, and getting a custom holster same-week if not same-day. Major holster makers have to tool-up for mass-production, so they're not as agile as a small company that can provide more indiviudual attention.

I can speak for Desantis as I own their holsters in lefty models and like them. I don't own an lcr but I have two OWB holsters from them one for an SR22 and one for a smith J frame.

Remora is ambi and usually they fit more than one gun Model which is also nice.

I'm also a lefty, but a wheel gun man. I have a S & W model 27 with a left hand S & W. holster and a model 36 with a shoulder holster and a pancake left hand holsters, both made by S & W.
Have you tried some law enforcement equipment supply houses that have left hand holsters.

I just bought a Safariland 6378-774-412 ALS™ Paddle/Belt Slide Holster, STX Plain (L) .

Ordered from holsters.com.

I found it for my SIG P226 MK25 (Navy) which it turns out is tough, and layer on top of that, I'm a lefty.

I should arrive tomorrow. Intend it for range use.
