I was able to get up to the range this afternoon. I had a few barrels to test fire and I also wanted to check out the Estate SWAT shells.
At 15 yards every shell grouped at or below 4". At 20 yards every shell grouped at or below 6". It wasn't practical to shoot at 25 yards. The pistol range was in use. There were no fliers. It was very pleasent to shoot these in 870s. All barrels were Vang Comped with ports. I got a call Friday from someone who just bought some of this ammo from Natchez. He told me that he paid $3.00 for a box of 10. That is still a good price. About half of what Federal Tactical buckshot costs. |

I bought an assload from Natchez when it was on sale. Good stuff, though it doesn't shoot very tight from my unmodified M3S90. I wouldn't expect anything to from a cylinder bore. I love Estate shells. That is all I've fired during the last two waterfowl seasons.

Yes indeed
The Estate Tactical stuff is very good, through
the Vang barrel. I just got my 870 back from Hans, and tried some Estate Tactical in it, and I got the same kind of results that the original poster described: 6" groups at 20m. Very consistent and pleasant to shoot. Unfortunately, I only had one box of it, and I spent the rest of the class (Front Sight four-day shotgun) with Federal Tactical, which is also good, but it's not as good, and much more expensive. Next time I'll order a few cases of Estate. The Hans Vang work is great, too. |
