Franchi I-12 PLEASE HELP

I am thinking of buying a new I-12 and want to know if any of you have one and how you like it. Any problems with them?

My buddy got one last October for duck hunting. He cleaned every part before firing. Put it together and shot it all season without any problems. Very nice gun.

Did you ever buy that Franchi? If so how do you like it and what barrel length did you get?

Before you spend that extra coin, try out a Stoeger 2000. It has recently been redesigned and that gun is now my favorite. It has basically the same type action as the Franchi I-12 and cycles anything you feed it.

I despised the 2000 as it was originally designed. Now that Stoeger has it right, I love it. The new design makes a world of difference. Elevated rib, high viz sights, improved quality in the innards makes this gun a real bargain at $439.00 in camo. Much less in wood or black synthetic.

Do field strip the bolt and magazine spring and clean out the cosmoline. Don't take out the trigger assembly as it doesn't need cleaning. Just spray some CLP in it. This gun field strips in less than 2 minutes and has very few parts. Five minutes from start to finish the first time. Less the next time.

The parts are so similar to the I-12 that it field strips the same way. Magazine tube recoil spring like the I-12.

It is worth a look to save some coin.

I bought a Benelli and what a mistake. JUNK. kicked like a mule. I went back to my 1187!

Those inertia guns do kick like an angry army mule. However, I have a Limbsaver on mine and it is a shetland pony now. Believe me, the double cushioned Limbsaver is a lifesaver and actually makes them manageable. Other companies make good pad for inertia driven guns. It tame the beasts.

I was looking at a Benelli Diamond a few months ago, thinking that this was one sweet, slender semi-auto shotgun. Then I saw the "I-12" designation on the receiver, and I began to wonder if maybe this was an inertia action as opposed to being a semi-auto. Turns out it is an inertia shotgun, and from what I've heard from others, they do indeed pass on a bit more kick than a gas operated semi would.
