Hornady .451 200 xtp?

I like to ask what do you think on the 45 acp bullet in a sabot?
I tried a .451 hornady bullet HP XTP in a 50 cal. black sabot down the bore of my inline :The powder charge 85 gr.777 will they work on N.E. Deer?

It will work if it's put in the right place, but you would need to be more careful about taking marginal shots on larger deer.
The heavier weight XTP's of 230 grains and up are more popular, especially those weighing 240, 250 & 300 grains.
And they will still fit into the MMP sabots that are sized for .451 & .452 bullets.

Those 10mm's are .40 caliber bullets, narrower in diameter but having the same weight makes for a bullet having a higher sectional density and increased penetration which will pass through deer easier.
Your's will work based on the shot placement and distance.
But bigger might be better depending on the size of the deer and how far they can run after being hit.

I am going to use the XTP only for a second shot in my thunderhawk:
The thunderhawk has no removable breech plug so when loaded the bullet you would need to be shot out,I am tired in wasting good bullet into the ground.
I use the buffalo SSB 325 gr. or 375 gr. BTHP.
I never needed a second shot with them in-front of 90 Gr. of triple 777 deer usually don't take a step.
