28 ga reloading
got a hornady progressive loader a month or two back, just now getting the bugs worked out, it was used. I am only cycling one or two hulls thru at a time till I get the hang of it. my problem is the shot dropping, I am using #5 shot and it hangs up in the tube and I have to tap it with a screwdriver to get it all to fall. ordered a new tube it does the same, took the old one out and used the dremmell to open the top up more of a funnell still have to tap the shot to get last little bit out, any suggestions??

I will always do that unless you go to a smaller shot size. .410 is terrible to reload, as shot is always hanging in the drop tube. Just get in the habit of tapping the drop tube evry time, and you'll be okay.

Bridging on the shot column is a problem on the .410 - but I've never had an issue on my MEC progressive loaders for 28ga ( but I don't load any shot bigger than 8's in 28ga either ).
It's a hassle - but you might not have any choice other than "rapping" it ...if you want to stay with the 5's ... |

I have the same loader and mostly use 7 1/2 shot without any problems.

It's gonna bridge using 5,6,7 maybe 7.5 from time to time. You might help it after you throw the shot, take a small rubber mallet & gently tap the drop tube. strong chance you'll handload the shot.

As mentioned, large shot, small tube= bridging - I've "flicked" the tube on my 28 with my offhand finger - seems to work - as long as I'm not loading bushels of shells
