Glock Shooting Advice

Folks,

I have recently acquired a 20 model of the Glock species. This is my first one, and I plan on putting in some extensive range time (hopefully) next week. I also own a 1911 in which I have become pretty fluent with. With that said, are there any tips/tricks/advice to keep in mind in regards to accurately shooting Glocks? Obviously the trigger is quite a bit different than what I am used to, but is there anything you seasoned Glock enthusiasts keep in mind when going to the range? Thanks,

If you are used to a 1991 then I'd only say that, with a Glock, you are the one and only safety: no fallbacks.

In addition, you may find that if you hold it in the same way as your other gun, you'll find that the front sight is a little higher than the rear, and so you may need to tilt the gun at the wrist.

Just do a little dry firing to get a feel for the trigger reset point. Then go have fun.

I tried that, once, having both a 1911 and a Glock.
It was just about impossible to switch back and forth between them well enough for action matches.
For general plinking, no problem, but the differences in grip angle and trigger were too great for trying to do serious shooting.
Take caution with the 1911, after getting used to the long take up of the Glock trigger.

Glocks work great factory stock but many add 3 dot night sights; www.Trijicon.com & frame plugs(I like the type with the clever Glock tool built in,

). Some like the Glock lanyard plugs for leashes or to use a pistol lanyard.
