black tie wheelguns
Allright, I just got through watching Casino Royale and never mind that 007 wasn't a revolver man, what might he be tempted to carry suitable for tuxedo concealment?
Here's my candidate, a Diamondback snub: |

Looks like Elk stag. I have a very similar pair on a 1965 Colt Cobra.

I wear a tux pretty often on gigs and my carry gun is a P3AT concealed under my cummerbund. No reason a J-frame wouldn’t work, too. I carry the gun in an IWB holster clipped inside my pants at 1:00. I also carry a stun gun in my left front pocket.
If you don’t have to worry about taking your jacket off (we frequently take off our jackets because the stage lights get so hot), you’d be able to wear just about anything if it wasn’t for the fact that tuxes don’t have belts. A good tux is usually light weight and suspenders show through the jacket. A shoulder holster might be kinda obvious to anyone looking for guns. |

"Bank-Note" S&W .45acp DA revolver....
In the mid-1990s, I recall reading a cool magazine ad for a limited ed Smith and Wesson custom 625 .45acp revolver. It was decorated with highly skilled "bank note" style engraving. I'm not much for firearms engraving per se, but the S&W snub revolver was impressive. I also do not recall the firearm price but it would have a lot of resale-collector value. It could be a carry gun but I'd make it a safe queen.

I believe it was originally intended for James Bond to carry a Smith & Weson Centenial Model. Probably with nickle plating and ivories.

When I have worn a tux in the past, my choice was my old faithful '73 vintage nic plated Colt Cobra.

Kcub, that, my friend, is one elegant Colt. I'd be proud of to wear that to any BBQ in our neck of the woods. A unique find..congrats....but just curious, and pardon my asking, but...wuddja pay for that beauty? Rod

Seems to me that a nickel gun has just the right amount of fanciness for a tux.
Of course, if you want something a bit smaller you can't go wrong with a classic Colt D-Frame or S&W J-Frame. |

Kudos for the lead hollow points!
Out of respect to the seller I will not disclose what I paid. However I looked at completed sales on gunbroker and this was the cheapest dback snub I found that actually sold; note that it does not have correct grips. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=320568984 Nickel is more, .22 caliber is more, etc. |

In the books, James Bond revolvers appeared frequently; after 1960, less so.
