Welding trigger to increase reach
I am looking to have the trigger on my Kahr P40 welded on the front face to increase the trigger reach by about 1/4 to 3/8". I know some of you must have had a similar procedure done. I am looking for a shop with a fast turnaround who will do this job right. I contacted Evolution Gun Works Inc. but they are 2 months deep in work. Any suggestions, and anyone who had something similar done, what did it run? Thanks in advance.

You don't have to limit yourself to a gunsmith (unless you've a problem disassembling/reassembling the pistol). Seems to me a quality machinist/welder could do the trick for you, although it might not be cheap. And then there's the issue of finish. Good luck, and let us know who you find.

Try gluing or taping a piece of plastic or wood on first, to get the right size and shape and to make sure that is what you want. ALso note that some triggers can cause problems if too heavy as the trigger return spring is not made for the extra weight.
You might also consider a trigger shoe, which could do what you want and would be easily removed or adjusted. Jim |

As of now its off to Accurate for a action job and the trigger increase. I looked into trigger shoes and decided that would be a bad idea. I will post prices and results. -Brian
