Granted, not all of these can beused in the same shotgun and not all types are represented but it is a start for renewing the discussion.

Nice pic, as usual, Oleg. You do have great graphics.

Lessee, just counting the 12 gauges here at Casa McC, the ammo on hand includes....

Two sizes of steel shot.
Three different turkey loads.
Trap loads in 7 1/2 and 8.
Field loads in 4,5, and 6(mostly 6s), and a few pre steel lead 2s.
Lots of 00,some 1 and 4 buck also. All the 00 is a 9 pellet load, either Winchester or Fed.
A couple hundred slugs, of myriad makers, but mostly KO Brennekes and Fed Classics right now. Other slugs, tried and found inaccurate in my shotguns, will be donated to new members of my gun club piecemeal so they can find out what slug their new deer gun "likes".

Oh,yes, other than two turkey loads and the steel, most all are dinky lil' 2 3/4" jobs. Gee, if all the deer, geese, etc that I've shot with them knew they were those lil' shells, they might not have fallen down so fast(G)....

shotguns

Yep versatile is a shotgun's middle name 12gauge that is. That is my choice for home/personal protection,or survival gun. make it a double for added versatility (sorry pumpgun lovers) and that's all a fellow needs

Question

Second from the right: Rubber Buckshot? For decoy deer? Sorry for the newbie question.

Regards,

Led

And these are just the shells that we are "allowed" to own. During Vietnam they developed a silent shotgun shell. It was a close range buckshot round that was internally silenced. Then there are Argentinan mini-grenades, and Penguin tear gas shells, and door breachers, and flares, and flechettes, and bean bags. Pretty darn cool.

Though I mostly have #6 and #8 on hand.

Led, rubber buckshot, like bean bag loads, are for non lethal apps.
