NFA questions??

Anyone know the number to the NFA branch who handles lost paperwork for a PD trade? Papers were lost over the years. I've been told the PD will likely have to be the one to call in since I am not the owner/in possession of the firearm. It that right?

Anyone have the number and the contact person for this type of question??
Any guidance on this issue will be appreciated since this is my first PD trade.

Thanks for all responses.....

I'd try the usual number (202-927-8330), explain the situation and see where you get. If that doesn't work, ask for a supervisor or the director of the NFA Branch.

all you have to do is go to atf.gov. type in nfa and then the you will be presented with a couple results. one has the number for the branch.
