Question foe Lee turret owner's

Does anyone use thier turret for rifle calibers? I currently use mine for all my pistol, and .223 (mini-14). I was thinking about trying it out for my .30-30, .303 Brit, and .444 Marlin. Just curious as to any insights. I hate having to pull out my rockchucker and reset up the bench every time I want to load for one of my rifles. Not looking to make tack driver ammo, just minute of hog. Any insights would be appreciated!

I load 30/06 ammunition on my Lee turret press. In order to start using the press for rifle calibers you must disengage the turret drive, thus rendering it pretty much a quick switch single stage.

It will produce premium ammunition if you feed it premium components.

Just buy another 3 or 4 hole turret and just quick switch between your pistol and rifle dies. Buy more if you want for every set of pistol dies. I load 30/06 with no problems.

I have turrets for 9mm, 10mm, .357, 38 spl, and .223. I love the Lee press. 2 years running and I never looked back. Just curious if there were any draw backs to the .30-30 and .444 marlin on it. I think I'll load my .303 on the Rockchucker, that way I can atleast say I use it

You'll have to remove the auto indexing rod to load longer rifle cartridges. The press will attempt to rotate the turret before the case has cleared the die, causing a jam. So like the previous poster mentioned, it will be basically become a manually indexing turret press, which is still faster than switching out dies in a single stage!

I've loaded .30-30, .30-06, .223 rem, and 8x57mm on mine. Seemed to work quite well. These are not match loads.

I use a lee turret with 4 hole , and rod removed... i load 06, 270, 308, and 7mm rem mag... works great... i load for accuracy not speed.

I used mine for the first time today. I loaded some 45/70's. It seemed to work wll.

.223 is the only rifle so far for me, with the auto indexing installed, I love that feature! 9mm and .45acp pistol loads for me also.

I have one of the very first Lee turret presses (read: non-progressive.). I load all my pistol calibers as well as .300 WbyMag, .240 WbyMag, 250-3000, and .303 Brit.

Wouldn't trade it for the world.

disconnected index for pistol and rifle

Have a Dillon 550 for pistol but only if I need mass production. Lee turret if for couple dozen rounds, 41 mag, 10mm, 45acp, 40S&W,454,45LC, 44ma, etc

Rifle from 22Hornet, 223, 270, 300 WSM, 300 Win Mag
308, 375H&H, 416 Rigby so I think it will be OK

I have the Lee Classic Turret as well and load 9mm, 10mm, 40 S&w, 45ACP, 204 Ruger, 223 Rem, 270 Win, 308 Win, and 300 WSM. Taking the auto index off makes it real easy to load the longer casings like the 270. I load the rifles for accuracy and pistols for plinking. No problems thus far.

I load both .45-70's and 6.5 Swede's with no problems using the Lee Turret Press.

Thanks for all the replies. I think I will be getting turrets for my .30-30 and .444 marlin. I don't shoot the .303 Brit much at all, so I think I'll just keep the rockchucker around for that one. Once again, thanks to everyone!
