Darn...I really tried to avoid it.

I broke down and bought another safe today. Just a small one. The two big ones were so crammed it was awful and I have one more rifle coming when the smith finishes it and I would have been unable to get it in either one. I know I have too many. I keep telling myself I need to sell some. But I can't bring myself to do it. I don't want 3 safes, but I had to do it.

I sneaked it in the den today while the wife was out and stuck it between a cabinet and a desk. Think she'll notice? Think she'll buy the old "Oh that? Naw, it's not new, had that for years." routine?

I'm still sneaking guns into my safe when the wife isn't home. But it is getting full. I'm pretty sure if I tried to get another safe we'd have problems. Good luck!

Better put a nice bit of jewelry in there, she'll see it eventually.

In the den? Yeah, I'm thinking she will. But maybe you could tell her it's for all the documents like wills, deeds, etc. It's surprising how much room they take up.

BTW, what kind of safe did you get?

I'm lucky, wife collects stuff to so the "you have to many" has never happened. She knows if I have to stop so will she.

Sgms, I think that's called "mutual assured destruction". There are risks.

Brought home safe #2 couple months ago. Wife wasn't upset about it, she just doesn't understand why I 'need' so many shooting related things.

She noticed and was angry. I think her complaint was that I bought a piece of "furniture" without her input. In other words it would have been OK if she had picked it out.

You are correct berretaprofessor how ever if push come to shove I can stop buying and still be able to "play with my toys" and be happy. For my wife I think the hunt is most of her fun in collecting, after a while she would break down and add something to her collection ending the buying drought.

I'm needing another safe for my pistols, but dangit if I don't have a couple of rifles that don't fit in the one I have now either.

Not complaining, a nice problem to have, for sure!

I'm thinking keep this one and remove all rifles - replace with more shelves for pistols, then get a "Rifle only" one. Yeah, that's the ticket!

My wife complained when I told her I needed another small safe. Brought it home and anchored it in a closet next to my existing safe. When she saw it she complimented me on how well it fit. No problem at all.

Ask her how many pairs of shoes she 'needs'.
