Have you tried you Python or Trooper grips to see if they will fit? One or the other should probably work.

Diamondbacks all take 'D' frame grips like those used on third generation Detective Specials.

Here is an example of what I am talking about.

Not affiliated with the seller and not saying the price is good. That is homework you can do. Service grips like these are around.

Target grips for a Diamondback that are in good shape are running 200 or so.

Also, there are lots of aftermarket grips to choose from.

Python, Trooper, and King Cobra grips will NOT fit a Diamondback.
All those guns are medium frames and the Diamondback is a small frame.
Also, Python and King Cobra's are totally different type grips and they won't interchange with each other.

What you need are grips made for a post-1966 Colt "D" frame with the "stubby" grip frame.
Grips that will fit the Diamondback are the post-1966 Detective Special, including the later Combat type grip, Cobra, Agent, and Viper.

All you need to do is order grips made for a Colt stubby "D" frame.
