FNM 82 13 5.56 brass ?
This brass was made in 1982 and it lot # 13, it has crimped in primers that are silver and not gold color. It was made in Portugal.
Since this brass is 31 years old, would it still be good reloading brass ? Does anyone have any experience with it ? |

Brass is brass is brass or is it?
Your brass is most likely not silver. Metals don't go onto medicare, so unless their is corrosion, it should be re-loadable. Check to see if it is 'boxer' or 'berdan' primed. Enjoy, OSOK |

31 year old brass is practically new (for me at least). As long as it's boxer primed, it's good brass. Look inside the case and see if there are one or two flash holes. One hole means boxer primed and good brass. Two holes means it's Berdan primed and destined for the scrap bucket.

I tested a few this weekend. I did trim them after sizing, and reamed the primer pockets with a Lyman reamer. They worked just like all of the other brass that I used.
Oh and I have some .45 ACP brass that is near onto 70 years old. It works just the same as the rest as well.
