Short Shotgun Legal?
Can someone tell me if I can own a 14.5 inch shotgun in Texas?

I believe by federal law, you would have to file some paperwork and pay a tax stamp to get that barrel under 18 inches..
I could be wrong though, it would be cool if I was wrong about this

Shotguns with barrels under 18" or overall lengths under 26" (be sure to measure as ATFE does) are regulated under the National Firearms Act of 1934. That requires prior approval by BATFE and a $200 tax stamp.
I believe that Texas doesn't have any further restrictions on these weapons, but you need to find a dealer licensed to handle NFA items (who will have to do the transfer) and make sure. |
