And might also be an aluminum case as I seem to recall. Small primer OK but if both crimped primers and aluminum I would discard.

I don't think they are aluminum. Some are, so you should check but I have reloaded them before without any problems. Dropped standard load by 10% and started over.

The aluminum cases are obvious and have an "N" and an "R" on the head stamp, that stands for not reloadable but some people still do.

I know a fellow that did for about six months. First bragging to everyone how he could do the impossible. Sure all the cases split after the second firing but they were free. After the chamber eroded and he had to replace the barrel he realized that the "NR" ment that he shouldn't reload them, not that he couldn't.

these are brass for sure, but small primer and they look like they are crimped. Why would they be crimped ?

To reduce pressure on the breech. Which was the reason for going to small primer pocket in the first place as well as I have read.

If definitely brass can't think of any reason why they should be crimped. Winchester with their green .45 ammunition use small primers that are not crimped. When I reload those I use small pistol primers and there is no noticeable difference.

None of mine were crimped either. May want to post a picture. If there the ones in the black and gold box, I don't believe they are crimped.

Maybe they are not crimped but it looks like a ring around the primer like on 5.56 military rounds

The Blazer aluminum cases used to all be Berdan primed, so it was REALLY obvious.
