Centerfire Guns equals or beats Bud's on price more often than not, has no credit card fee, fast shipping, and good sevice when I've needed it.

Gunshows are my second favorite. I rarely miss one. Last score was an M&P Shield for 300 lnib with holster from a private seller who's wife didn't like it.

I used to live in Fredericksburg myself, and I got a couple of good deals from that Gander Mountain on Rt. 3 myself. I didn't go in there much, or look around for other dealers because I traveled to Richmond three or four times a week so I just shopped at Greentop same as always. I've never bought but one gun off Virginia Gun Trader, but I have sold several. Good, well run site for Virginians in the market. I just wish they'd have a separate section for revolvers so I didn't have to sift through dozens of Glocks, Sigs, and such to find something interesting.

This. My range is small, only 6 shooting lanes, but they are a Gallery of Guns dealer so I can compare pricing. They are consistently about $15 more expensive on new guns than the cheapest place in the area but I still use them since it's where I shoot.

I try to use my LGS. We've done a lot of business together; I can't complain about anything.Their prices are excellent, selection is more than adequate, most of the time. However, I have a liking for target guns; and sometimes they don't carry some models; other times can't get a specific model. Almost everytime I go to them first; they'll tell me to go elsewhere if they can't get what I want. In fact, they contacted me an hour ago to tell me to pickup a gun I got from online; I'd checked with them about three months ago and they told me to look elsewhere. It took this long to find one online.

I've bought mostly used guns, mostly on gunbroker, with very few disappointments. A scattering of purchases from private sales or LGS.

If you use gunbroker, you know what you want ,and you don't have to have it RIGHT NOW, look at what auctions close around 4pm through about 9pm on Fridays. Seems as if most of the world is getting off work and kicking off the weekend so I've frequently found low volume (& lower $) bidding those times.

I'll often have 3-4 on layaway at a time...
Cash America is my fav, as you can find one on their website & have it shipped to a local store

Haggle, haggle, haggle, when you find something at a local pawn shop...
there's ALWAYS wiggle room, since they buy for 1/4 to 1/2 of the priced value

I use Davidsons Gallery of Guns for my online buys. I don't have a goto local place but I check em all out from time to time. Armslist is a good place for a used bargain.

I keep an eye on numerous venues. I no longer need any specific firearm, but I am certainly a sucker for a good deal.

I watch the local internet bulletin board, GunBroker, local auctions (within 100 miles and in my own state as can found on auction zip), and etc. The last two firearms I purchased were at a court ordered estate auction. The owner passed away over three years before the auction, and I understand there was a family dispute over the assets.

I do that when I can, but I just bought a PX4 Storm from Bud's. I've made about 5-6 purchases there without a hitch. My local dealer quoted me $100+ on Buds price, so it was a "no brainer". I've not seen a PX4 for that price anywhere else. They usually run $550 to $650 everywhere I've looked.

The only criticism I have of Bud's, it takes at least 10 days, for the gun to arrive at my dealers. You can become a member, and get 24 hour shipping. At my age, I don't think I'll be buying very many new guns.

I'm about an hour's drive from both Buds (north) and KyGunCo (west), that's where I go most of the time, but I've done the GunBroker thing too, just have them shipped to my FFL about 10 minutes away.

The best deals I ever got was emailing a vendor on GunBroker a best offer (even though he didn't ask for a best offer, I just did it). In both cases, the gun didn't sell for its listed price and they emailed me back offering to sell at the price I offered. This probably would not work with a major vendor but if its a private seller you can probably lowball an offer.

Online is tough, you need to make sure you are including shipping and transfer fees when comparing prices.

Also, now more than ever its very important to support your local gun stores. Anti-Gun groups have successfully closed down gun stores and prevented new ones from opening in the past. Without the physical presence of gun stores, firearm ownership becomes less and less visible and non-gun owners only exposure to guns is when they talk about them on the news and that is usually in a negative context.

I'd ask that everyone consider spending a little extra at your local dealer for guns, ammo, and accessories. Recently I've decided to buy everything from local stores (doesn't really have to be local as long as its a physical building) unless they don't have something that I really need. When anti-gun groups target a local store, they often use the tactic of driving them out of business by finding way to make them spend money they don't have. It happened in my home town, they found a way to tax firearms dealers extra and the store didn't have the resources to fight it and went out of business very quickly, now the town doesn't have a gun or ammo dealer within 45 minutes and ordinances pretty much make it impossible for a new store to open.

That was in liberal NJ, I'm living happily in another state now.

The absolute best gun store I've been too. If you're ever in the area you better stop by. They don't have it all there, it's a smaller store, maybe 200 guns or so but you can't beat their deals. On new guns they want the going rate pretty much but the deals are with their used stuff. Their marked prices are usually already fair, if not a bit on the cheap side but they'll go even lower. You don't even have to ask. The owner will knock a little off just by you looking at it. If you like to haggle then it's the place for you too. There's some other places that can have good deals but I've never been in this shop without drooling over a deal.
