Will 10% reduced 6.5x55 loads work for .260 rem?
I'm trying to begin loading .260 rem, but am having trouble finding a lot of load data for the cartridge. I know it's VERY similar to the 6.5mmx55 Swedish Mauser cartridge.
Anyhow, I just got a set of LEE Pacesetter dies for the .260 rem and the load data that came with it says "These are 6.5x55 loads reduced 10% for your safety". Does this mean I could safely take any 6.5x55 load data I find, reduce 10% and use it in a .260 rem? If not, does anyone know of a good source for .260 rem load data? Thanks in advance! |

loach,
Here are a few links to powder manufacturer and powder distributor websites that show properly prepared data for the 260 Remington cartridge. Accurate Alliant Hodgdon IMR Unfortunately, Rottweil, Vectan/SNPE (Nobel), Vihtavouri, and Winchester don't list loads using their powders in the 260 Remington online yet. Norma's reloading section appears to be undergoing revision this A.M. Bob |

Thanks for the links!
bfoster, I'd been to Hodgdon & IMR's sites, but they only list a handful of loads. The others sites will certainly be helpful. Thanks! sricciardelli, that's a LOT of information. Wow. |
