Suggestions for 18" autoloader
Friend of mine wants an autoloading shotgun primarily for HD. He mentioned some Mossberg at a store for ~$400, not sure what it is though.
Any other ideas? I piped in with the Saiga idea to no avail. |

Mossberg makes three 18" autolaoders, theare all based on the 930 action.
The "Home Security" model: These retail right around or just inder $400 The "Tactical", it is a ~16-17" barrel with the breacher / suppressor attached to the barrel $448.44 @ R & R Arms - http://www.rrarms.com/catalog.php?prod=G85330 The "930 SPX" has all of the "bells & wistles" $525.46 @ R & R Arms - http://www.rrarms.com/catalog.php?prod=G85360 There is also the "Field / Home Security" combo, you get the 18-1/2" barrel & the 28" incase you want touse it for hunting, too $425.17 @ R & R Arms - http://www.rrarms.com/catalog.php?prod=G85325 Since they are all based on the same action, they should be equally reliable, it just depends on what your friend is looking for... If you have any specific questions let me know, I have two of them a 28" walnut "field" model and the 930SPX, they have both performed perfectly. No failures to feed, fire, or eject and I'm over 14,000 rounds between the two of them.

Wow, thanks for the info. I'll pass this along to him. The field/HD version looks like a really good deal.

The 930 "Home Security" is a sweet deal, then you can add a Choate +2 extension and you have an HD semi, of course the extension is not required in that role.
