Just got my Loadbook for the .308, I meticulously cross referenced it to several loading manuals, and all were exact copies. This is an incredible little book. It is not for the inexperienced however, you should still get a REALLY top notch manual to give you the ins and outs of reloading, definantly not JUST this guide! And for $9.95 postage paid, you cant beat it with a stick!

I'll assume you're talking abut Midway USA loadbooks. How about their Loadmaps? Just started loading .45acp and thinking about getting one.

SK,
I think he means Loadbooks, published by Loadbooks USA Inc. 18826B Soledad Canyon Road Canyon Country, California 91351 Ph. (805) 250-8502 www.loadbooks.com These are small books, kind of cheaply printed, single caliber per book. They are nice because they contain all of the complete information that is in almost all of the major manuals. Same format as the manual for the component--Nosler bullets section looks like a photocopy of their data, Hodgdon, etc. They can be ordered from the publisher at the website, or may be found at some other places as well, (such as www.cabelas.com for $6.99 + s&h) Wherever you get them, they are worth the money, (Ihave one for .270Win. and am planning to pick up a couple more) Midway's LoadMAPS series are good. Different format than the above Loadbooks, and much better printing. Divided into sections by bullet weight, then for each bullet listed they have about 10 powders listed in nice easy to read colored charts from start (green) to max (red-stop) loads. For the .45 acp they list 46 different bullets and 18 different powders. I would go with this over the Loadbook for the .45, - I have it. HTH bergie |

SK, I've got the Midway LoadMAP for .45 ACP, and I like it a bunch. The introductory information about the general topic of reloading is not as complete in the LoadMAP as it is in my Speer manual; however, the technical data is outstanding, in my opinion. I loaded some .45 ACP per the LoadMAP and the velocity per a chronograph was very close to what the LoadMAP indicated it should be. LoadMAPs list a lot of data for different bullets and powders.

I'd love to have a LOADMAP, but they haven't gotten to rifles yet

I went to the website and checked them out, they look exactly like the Loadbooks that Midway sells for $7.99 ($9.95 from the website). In fact I'm pretty sure they are the same thing. I have one for .41 magnum, while it contains some useful information I don't use it as much as I do the Lymans 47th or even the freebie handouts from powder manufacturers. Think I'll go ahead and order a Midway loadmap.

They are the same books that Midway puts out I have one for each cal. They have there place. But I still like the Speers and Lyman books better. But I also like many books so that I can cross referance.
One thing I really use in the load books, is the Shooter's Log ,in the front of the book. TonyZ ------------------ www.vote.com also for gun accessorys. http://gungoodies.com |

I REALLY wish Midway would hurry with the LOADMAPS for rifles. Their format is definantly better laid out than the Load Book, although they contain basically the same info.
