1860 navy wedge??
May sound like a dumb problem but I cant figure out how to get the wedge out on my new colt navy from cabelas...I know you are just suppose to bump it out but I can make it come out and dont want to damage the gun, I am new to all this can someone help me??

A brass punch or even a penny will do to drive it out. Don't need to remove the screw. Take note of how close to flush the wedge is on the side opposite the screw and replace it to the same place. Drive it in too deep and it will bind the cylinder. Most new wedges barely fit flush.

I use a Lyman gunsmith's hammer with a nylon face to encourage recalcitrant wedges to come out.
