870 Bartering ?

I have a S&W 639 old style single stack 9mm in stainless +3mags. My buddy wants to trade me a 870 HD black finish with synthetic stock and home defense 18" barrel. I figure my 9mm is worth around $200. Am I getting a good deal? Thanks for input.

Unless your 639 is pretty beat up, I think you're about $100~$150 light on it's value from what I've seen.

I took it to a local shop and he said it was b/w 85-90%. He was only going to give me $175-200!?!? I told him he was crazy. What do you think the parkerized 870HD would run for?

Remington Express HD's with extensions sell for about $299 most days of the week. You're probably coming out a little light in the deal, but in deals with buddies, karmic points are worth a few bucks if everyone walks away happy.

If it's just a 5 shot express, those are selling for about $225 or so. Close to $300 would usually mean a combo set (18" and 28"/30" barrel set).

Your pistol is most likely worth about $300~$350. Last 439 I saw for sale was about 95% and sold for $395 with two magazines.
