A simple way to aim

Hello everybody.™

Wasn't sure where to put this, but whatever.

I have an idea for sighting rifles. (Pistols might be included)

Ok. See that red line? That is a fine fiber optic cable, with the end nearest the front sight attached to a bright LED. Then the line runs down the gun all the way to the front sight. There, is a fine shield, that can be analogzied to a pipe, with the water running down the pipe. Replace the water with the fiber optic cable, but it is recessed inside the "pipe." Now, all you do, is you align the weapon until you can't see any of the "pipe" running down the gun. Fire.

Hope somebody understood that and can take it from here.

I think it would work better without the fibre optic. Just have a light source down the end of the tube, to see it you must be in line with it.

However, the big problem with this is, what if you're not exactly in line, and therefore can't see the light? There's nothing to tell you which way to move...
At least with iron sights you can tell if you're high, low, left or right.

The tube thing only tells you if you're on or off target.

There's an IPSC video game like this. The problem is Akin to parralax. You really need to have the whole fiber in line and when it comes to accuracy. For durability I think the Aim point and Eotech beat out a standard fiber opticas well.
