Another question from a new guy!

How do you know when you have enough crimp?

The bullets I’m doing have no cannelure and I am doing a tapered crimp…presently.

Thank you in advance!

Tom

To start off with, most loads need not be crimped unless they are for a couple of specific reasons, and even then you will probably find unless they are on the top end or heavy recoiling loads, the crimp might be more detrimental than helpful, especially if the bullet has no cannalure to crimp into.

What caliber are you loading?

What type of magazine or action are you feeding them into, tubular, automatic rifle, revolver?
