I know the difference between "Series 70" and "Series 80" but I came across a pistol being advertised as a "Series 90".
What the heck does "Series 90" mean? |

Tony, you got me. I haven't seen or heard of a series 90 but with my backlog I don't get out much. George

Isn't that the new doofer with the "Ergonomic" grip? I sorta lost interest in Colts after the advent of the collet-bushing...
Rant mode on: When folks go to re-inventing the wheel, fixing what ain't broke, violating the KISS principle and finding solutions in search of problems, mine eyes glazeth over and I get a severe attack of boredom. Even "This is neat!" promo articles in the gun rags leave me cold... So collet bushings, magazine disconnects, ergonomic "handles" and all that give me a gigantic attack of the "So, what?"-itis. That comes with being an old fart, of course. Ranting is fun! Rant mode off--for a while. Y'all be good, Art |

The series 90 refers to the 1991-A1 and the Defender, etc. I have NO idea why the designation changed since there was no major redesign - only cosmetic differences.
