Somebody buy Hogue and shut them down. The grips they supply to S&W and Ruger as O.E.M. are surpassingly ugly. Ugly enough to turn me off to the whole gun.

If I remember my import laws correctly real Sig 550 series could technically be imported to the US, but they would have to be built in a "sporter" configuration that lacks the evil "assualt weapon" features like ability to accept high capacity mags. Once those rifles enter the US, they can be reverted back to their true form using enough US made parts to be 922r compliant.

Sig could also just build an exact copy using their manufacturing plant in the US, but they chose to go for something that looked and functioned similar but was cheaper. I can't really blame them for it, as the costs of the real 550 series as such that they would likely never sell enough commercially to turn a profit, but I can dream.

Great post! I would love to have an 8-shot .357 redhawk!

I would also love to see a gun of the Ruger MK series chambered in a "real" caliber. I would take 9mm or something really unique like a .38 special or .357 mag. Or imagine an oversized MKIII chambered for .45 colt!course the blowback would make recoil a real "B."

I would like to see Mauser do more. I want to see a pistol from them that's modern and servicible and not just a copy of a SIG (Sigsauer owns Mauser.) I would also love to see them bring back the broomhandle Mauser and Luger too. I would also love to see them produce Gewehr 98 and K98 replicas and sell them at a reasonable cost. Really I would love it if they sold anything at a reasonable cost.

That said, I would gladly buy a "Mauser" branded SIG 229 or 2022 too!

How about an LCR in 9MM? Sounds good to me.

Ruger #1, 26" barrel in 6.8mm SPC with a rim. Since the 6.8 is based on a .30 Rem using a .30-30 case should not be a problem. The rim just seems right for a single shot & this combo would be interesting as a deer gun.

I'd like to see Ruger make their target style heavy barrel 10/22 with Hogue stock as a reliable .22 magnum. And to provide affordable reliable Ruger factory 25 round mags for it.

I'd enjoy one of those as a fun little 9mm carbine supplement.

A stainless steel, roughly 686/GP100 sized revolver based on the Medusa revolver concept from one of the major makers but with the Dan Wesson removable barrel system and cylinders and barrels in .45, .44, .40, .38 and .32 to allow the use of .32/.327 caliber, .44/.429, .45/.454, 10mm/.40 and .38/.357 revolver/auto rounds. Ideally, the .32/327 cylinder would hold 7 or 8 shots, the .38/.357 and 10mm/.40 cylinder, 6 shots, and the .44/.429 and .45/.454 cylinders would hold 5 shots.

It would be expensive, of course, but just imagine having a gun that would fire the vast majority of centerfire pistol rounds on the market. You might even be able to fire the bottleneck rounds by mixing and matching barrels and cylinders. The 9mm barrel with the .40/10mm cylinder would allow the use of .357 SIG and 9x25 Dillon, and the .32 caliber barrel with the 9mm cylinder would allow the use of .30Mauser, .30 Luger and .30 Tok.

It will never happen, of course. The first owner would no doubt install the .32 barrel and the .45 cylinder and proceed to blow the gun up.

I know that the Billennium and Steel are available, but they aren't the standard 92S or 92G--they are entirely different designs in terms of how the safety is implemented and the frames are plated, not stainless.

A Ruger Super Redhawk with a 5" barrel having a profile similar to the GP100 full underlug barrel instead of the highly unaesthetic "pole stuck into the frame" look of the standard Redhawk. This is a possibility, but maybe there's not enough demand for the idea.

Ruger did make the Mini 14 in 7.62 X 39 and they called it the mini 30.

Was not too many years ago. Don't know if it is still cataloged. My neighbor bought one about 5 years ago.

There was a P85 or P89 that came with a .30 Luger barrel. 7.62x25 is problematic due to the long cartridge length. It won't even fit into a 10mm magazine.

I was talking about the pistol round.

I have another. A synthetic stock, SS compact lever gun in 9 mm. Not one of those tactical stocks -just a classic lever gun but as I described.
