.445 Super Magnum
I understand that the brass is formed from another round. Could anyone please tell me which round and how to make it? I can't find any commercial shells and I don't have any brass for it yet.
Once more, thanks in advance. |

445 loading
I just bought 445 Starline brass from Midway. I haven't loaded it yet.
I hope it's the same dimentions as 44 mag, since I plan to use it in a lengthened 44 chamber. Any experience here? |

Yes, you can use 44 spl and 44 mag dies. The hornaday book shows the .445 to be slightly smaller diameter by .002". Not sure that it really matters. FWIW it seemed that my sizing dies sized the 445 brass more than the 44 mag brass.
For my crimping I have been using the roll crimp first (RCBS die) when I seat the bullet, then doing a taper crimp (lee die). I mostly shoot 44 spl and 44 mag in my 445 so I dont have much experience yet with full 445 loads. John |
