When was stag first commonly used as a revolver stock material?
I had never questioned stag being a legitimate cowboy era stock material before, but when did stag really become available and used for the purpose?

Curly Bill Brocious had a set when he died in 1882. I saw a pic once but can't find it now. I think it was his anyway. That's the earliest set I know of with provenance. I don't think they got to be commonplace until the late 1920's or early 30's.
