Aluminum Can?

I have an old Dcell Maglite made from AA.

The shape, length, and threaded ends make this ideal for a can project.
Saw off the end under the button, machine / bore a plug for the cut off end end, drill tap some machine screws, use one for a set screw...

I have made one many years ago for a .22 with very good results.

I have just acquired a Sub-2000, this is going to have a significantly greater amount of gas to control.

With machined plug, I end up with just shy of 600cc volume

Should I even attempt this as I did for the .22, or is it just going to be a pipe bomb waiting to hurt someone?

Does anyone have an good resources of volume/round @ barrel length ratios?

I vote no.

Ah... are you in the USA Sabre9mm? I'm thinking no... that, or you're really not playing with a full deck.

Um, unless you have all the licenses, stamps, and legal stuff (providing you're in the States) I would go as far as making that thing a high-tech bloop tube and stop there.

You need to research the laws regarding silencers.

I hope you realize that making one without the appropriate ATF paperwork is a federal offense.
