380 Question

Hello all,

I've started reloading 380 handgun and I'm wondering if there is a web resource on bullet dimensions. Almost every bullet I find is .355 or .356 in diameter, which is great, but I am looking for something shorter and I'm hoping to find some length data before dropping too much money looking on my own.

What I'm looking for:
380 FMJ or CMJ
weight doesn't matter; 90gr, 95gr, 100gr
Width: .355 is ideal; .356 is workable
Length: Something in the .435-.440 range. I have used a Rainier 95gr in the past that fit the bill perfectly, but they no longer make it.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

What brand are you using now? Have you taken a look at the Magtech?

Rainier's 95gr FMJ worked perfectly for me, but they only offer it in 100gr now. I haven't had a chance to check out the 100gr yet to see if it would work. I tried a Berry's 100gr, but it's not working for me. I have seen Magtech's offering and have asked for the length data from them, but have not heard back yet.

Thanks!

I’m a little confused by your question. It doesn’t matter what length the overall bullet is you still need to load it to the correct COL which for 380 differs very little.
Also what do you mean by not working out?
Contact the owner at Penn and ask him, he’s been a big help to me over the years. He also has a short 100 Gr. His Tech support is open throughout the day at the number listed on his web site.

WOW. That's an amazing compilation of data.

Very impressive.
