Rotary bolt shotguns
Winchester's 1300 series is billed as having a rotary bolt. What, if any, are the advantages of this type of bolt? Are there any other brands that use this type?

No real advantage that I can see. If there is one, it could be the lock up into the barrel allows a lightweight aluminum receiver without a long barrel extension like the Mossberg. Kind of reminds me of the way an M-16 locks up.

According to the maker, it makes a super fast cycle. While the new Winnies are good shotguns, there's no overwhelming advantage to this, IMO.
I think the Benellis have a rotary bolt, but don't quote me... |
