Unfortunately, this will probably be labeled a drive by. And I'd also like to remind you, even though this guy probably is an idiot, he's a police chief. He reports to, and serves at the pleasure of a mayor most likely. Sheriffs are elected, if a police chief wants to keep his job, he says what the Mayor tells him to say.
