Good Youtube Training Videos?
All,
I know this might seem 'mall-ninja'-ish, but I was wondering if we could create a post with good 'training & tactics' videos found online. Case in point, Magpul shot-show 2009: I watched Chris Costa(I think?) practicing the transition to weakside. Being the person I am, I tried it out e a couple of times at home. The next week at a Carbine Course, I utilized the transition, and it worked 100%. (1) Firing hand grabs the front of the rifle (2) Weak hand grabs the pistol grip (3) Switch sides (possibly while lifting stock up to clear sling) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcYsl...eature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5nOt2pSySY ======== Here's also another great video from viking tactics on how to utilize their sling--most notably, their use of moving their foot forward to transition shoulders http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gesXI...eature=related Utilizing a quick step forward is a *huge* for a smoother transition IMO. Any one else have good vids they found, that they would like to share? |

I love Mil-Spec monkey.
Another excellent source of shooting information for defensive and competitive shooters are the "Protips" videos that The Outdoor Channel once uploaded to Youtube. Most of the tips are from All-Galaxy Shooter Todd Jarrett, however there are also a couple from members of the Army Marksmanship Unit, who recently redesigned the Army's CQB course using lessons learned in USPSA 3-Gun competition. Todd Jarrett - Shooting on the move Todd Jarrett - Shooting Prone Todd Jarrett - Reloading (note: this one is particular good if you're interested in tac-loads and reloads with retention) Todd Jarrett - Moving Targets Army Marksmanship - Speed Reloads Army Marksmanship - Shooting on the move Army Marksmanship - Shotgun reloading The mission statement of AMU is to take lessons learned from practical shooting games, and distill out of that what can be applied to soldiers on the battlefield; a mission which they've been quite successful at executing. Todd Jarrett is a top USPSA shooter, and is one of the most "in-demand" trainers for law enforcement and "high-speed low drag" military personnel.

Viking Tactics
I've been helping Kyle Lamb put together some rifle drill videos for Viking Tactics on YouTube. Here are a few examples:
1/2 and 1/2 Rifle Drill Highsmith Rifle Drill Zig Zag Rifle Drill 1-5 Rifle Drill 2x2x2 Rifle Drill If you've got the bandwidth, they look best in "HD." Last edited by tmfrmk; March 29, 2009 at 07:15 PM. |
