300 Win Mag case length ?
The specs I have read 2.620 to 2.610 for the case length. I picked up a bag of once fired winchester .300w/m's. After resizeing in my RCPS die ,I found many of them were under 2.610. Now, we all know over is bad , but how FAR UNDER can one go SAFELY on length on this case ? Thanks

Should be fine to use. Max case length is a caution because of the possibility of jamming the neck into the end of the chamber, causing high pressure du to failure of the case neck to release the bullet. I have measured cases from the factory that ran.010"-.013 under trim-to measurement with no problems. They will grow.

Thanks , Scorch ! I guess I was worried about neck length because the .300 win mag has been touted as " too short " of a neck for good bullet grip. I dont know where that came from , but I think I read it in a load book. I never found that problem. Thank you again for addressing my concern.
