How much is used going to save you? Used needs to be a pretty spectacular deal for me to take the chance getting someone else's lemon.

New, I'd say. $400 is a steal for the quality of gun Ruger's putting out in the SR9 and SR9c.

Plus, getting a new gun is more fun than the ~$25-50 saved. That new gun smell!

I'll probably end up with new.

Used guns usually don't offer enough of a discount to make them appeal to me. Didn't know if there were any deals out there on used SR9C's.

Maybe if I could find a used one with some extra mags/holsters.

I bought my SR9 used. Really checked it out and took it apart in front of the seller. Put it back together and requested to try before I buy. Shot two magazines through it before I bought. Worked flawlessly and gun looked brand new. Came with box and all factory components. Paid $360 out the door. I suggest used is perfectly fine as long as you really inspect and take your time before you buy.

I got mine used for $350. I tend not to worry about buying someone elses lemon though. To me the savings is not only the difference between new and used price but also sales tax or a transfer fee. So for me the $75 saved was worth it.

If you can find used under $375 out the door go for it. Saves you from any break-in period.

Recently bought a stainless slide SR9C from Bud's. Love it. At Bud's the price on the SR9C fluctuates between $403 and $430.. Unfortunately for me I bought it when it was being sold for $430. Several days later I went to Bud's website and the same gun was $407. Keep watching the website and you will see the price changes. Bud's rep told me it changes based on what it costs them to replenish their supply. Keep it mind the price fluctuates up and down. Good luck. You will love the gun.

BTW I recently saw the SR9C used at my local pawnshop. The guy was asking $529 for a used handgun that sells new between $403 and $430.

buy new, that way you know it's history. I got my black SR9c last year at a local gunshow for $350+taxes he even paid for the FTL. I paid cash. I remember there where 3 new SR9c at that gunshow, I made sure the dealers show I had cash and ready to buy for the right price.

I love my black SR9c, shot 1500 rounds of wolf steel case ammo with no problems not one, now shooting Winchester NATO 124 +P about 350 rounds down the pipe I'm switching to the Remington golden saber 124 gr +P BJHP as defensive rounds.

It's hard to find a good used one since folks that own an SR9c will never sell them. I'd sell my SS SR9 and Kahr PM9 first before I sell my SR9c!

Outside of Mil-Sup, I rarely buy used. I just don't see that big of price differential. I picked up a new SR9C last month at a gun show for just under $400 cash, including tax.

It took a lot of searching, but I found a used SR9c that was in like new condition for $299 with case, two mags, two extentions, & it even came with a holster. I've put 500 rounds through it so far without any problems (well, except for liking my full size better ). If you're not in a big hurry, deals are out there to be found, but you can find them new at gun shows in the $400 range +/- a little.

I would buy used Ruger. I got mine for $300 shipped w/ 2 10 rds mags and $25 ffl fee. With Ruger I don't worry about it much even for used pistol, they have some of the best Customer service in the industry.
