Spencer Shotgun

Greetings...

Does anyone have information on Spencer Shotgun Co?

I found a single shot 12 guage in my fathers basement. The only markings anywhere are "Spencer Gun Co." on the left hand side of the breach. No other numbers or markings anywhere. The only info I can find is on the Spencer slide models. Nothing on single shots. The family story is that my great great grandfather dug it up somewhere in Kansas as an old James gang stash. No clue. Any information on this weapon would be awsome. Thanks!
