What industry(s) could benefit from gun prohibition?

Does anyone have any evidence of a particular industry that would financially benefit from severe gun regulations? Since the media has for years accused groups like the NRA as being "the lobbying arm" of the gun industry, I was just wondering if any particular industry could see financial windfalls from the anti gun movement.

I think lawyers and the prison industry would benefit the most. No evidence to offer, just my gut feeling.

Prohibition fuels crime, it creates a climate in which a black market can thrive. The law abiding citizens won't have guns, but politicians go by some silly notion that criminals obey laws. Once you can't go out to your local gun shop to buy a gun, people will find somewhere to buy guns.

There would be a flood of firearms coming back over the border from mexico because there are people in America that will pay for them and the cartels probably have warehouses of the guns that gangs in america will now pay huge amounts for.

It would result in about 4x the police presence you are used to. and even with those large numbers, good luck finding any of them willing to go door to door confiscating weapons. Expect lots more speeding tickets to pay for this huge increase in law enforcement.

Government is now larger than it was, and spending more money and making less money. Nonetheless would happen if there was prohibition.

security alarm companies, street criminals, organized crime (hits, burglaries, protection money, gun black market) , government, security contractors (mercs and bodyguards).....

Even some gun dealers who would love to have a monopoly on gun sales if private transactions are discouraged.

Airsoft gun companies.

Everyone has overlooked the "industry" that will benefit the most from gun prohibition! Crime! Criminal enterprise and murders will be much more comfortable and easy with home invasions, robberies and murders. Its like everywhere will be a "gun free zone" They will be as free to murder as the guy that broke into the school in Conn. and murdered all the defenseless elementary students and teachers! Thank your local anti-gun politician and Senator in the next election!

GOVERNMENT!!! More cops, more treasury agents, more prisons, etc.

When guns are prohibited, history will repeat itself. The criminals will get richer, there will be more enforcement jobs, and eventually the people will realize "this isn't working" and the prohibition will be repealed.

That's all fine but the $64 question still is what private industry would benefit the most from 2nd amendment oblivion? Does anyone have any hard evidence of that particular industry funding anti gun rhetoric?
