To add to the info posted here about the differences in the chambering, the 7.62 will be loaded to 50,000 CUPs max but your 308 will be much higher. You can easily shoot the 7.62 in your bolt gun and have no issues. Once fire formed, load it like you would any military brass and approach max loads with caution.

hey wog,
the chamber isnt rough.
when the case jams the bolt has to be worked up/down in/out pretty forcefully to open the chamber and clear the case.
I'm using surpluss fmj ammo and the gun is spotless and has weapon shield on everything that moves.
a while back i was told its a head space problem and "DO NOT FIRE THE GUN" until it was fixed.
i was going to change out the #1 head bolt but i cant find any #2 for sale.
I bought some new ammo (prvi) but afraid to shoot it!
sorry all for sidetracking the thread, i should have taken it private.
