Is there any potential damage for magwell locks?

because I have multiple guns at the ready, I actually keep others secured for safety reasons.

because of this, I use what I would describe as a magwell or a slide lock for guns that I know I won't be needing for a while. (long U shaped pad lock with key)

I stick one of these through the ejector and out the bottom of the mag well, locking at the bottom of the magwell.

so for being that the slide is locked back some times two three days out a time, can this cause damage to any part of the slide/gun for any reason?

Only if you're in the habit of dropping the slide on your lock cable. What about trigger locks? Don't have to leave the pistol with the slide back when using them.

Dip the Shackle in plastic dip a few times to cover it then after you lock the lock you can let the slide go forward slow, manualy and there will be no marring and the recoil spring will be more relaxed.

the lock was in the box with the gun when I bought it. it already has rubber around the U shaped lock mechanisim..

so does it matter if I lock the slide back or unlock it and let it rest against the U shaped thingie?

Per Zip 22 it makes no difference.
